Mid 19th Century Dutch fruitwood and lacquer panelled side cabinet. The top is butterfly matched with canted corners, barber stringing and centred on a Japanned and lacquered panel. The panel depicts a heron in a natural setting.
The canted and concave sides are painted and decorated with chinoiserie motifs and flanked with a main cabinet door that opens to reveal a single oak shelf. The door features a larger Japanned and lacquered panel, centred around sectioned fruitwood veneers and crossbanded with barber stringing and tulipwood bandings.
The side cabinet is of diminutive scale and is raised on faceted inlaid feet that terminate on brass balls.
