Mid Georgian period mahogany open armchair. The chair has recently been reupholstered in a blue damask and is traditionally upholstered with horse hair. The rounded camel shaped back is tapered and elegant. The out-swept arms are scrolled off at the ends and perfectly racked back enough to accommodate a desk for the user. The serpentine fronted seat is raised on an 'H' stretcher and square tapered legs. The chair frame is 18th century and has no replaced rails or splits.
